Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 7, 2026

Effective date: October 15, 2026

This Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy applies to residents of Washington, Nevada, and Connecticut and to "consumer health data" as defined by the Washington My Health My Data Act (RCW 19.373), Nevada Senate Bill 370, and the Connecticut Data Privacy Act. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes all of the personal information Bazu Fitness LLC ("Bazu", "we", "us") collects.

Bazu is a fitness and workout tracking app. It is not a medical device or healthcare provider. We do not sell consumer health data.

1. Consumer health data we collect

  • Workout and exercise data: exercises, sets, reps, weight lifted, duration, routines, goals, and personal records
  • Nutrition data: foods and meals you log, portion sizes, calories and nutrients, meal times, saved foods and meals, daily totals, and calorie and macronutrient targets
  • Body measurements and related information you provide for nutrition targets: age in years, height, weight, activity level, goal, and the energy equation (male or female) you choose
  • Apple Health data you choose to share: for example workouts, heart rate, active and resting energy, weight, and height
  • Apple Watch workout session data, such as active workout state and set completion
  • Inferences drawn from this data, such as progress insights, training trends, and calculated nutrition targets

2. Sources

  • You, when you enter it in the Bazu app
  • Apple Health, only for the data types you authorize in iOS
  • Your Apple Watch, when you use the Bazu Watch app

3. How we use it

  • To provide the features you request: workout logging, nutrition logging, targets, insights, and sync
  • To calculate guided nutrition targets and show progress toward them
  • To write data you choose back to Apple Health
  • To keep your account and our services secure and working reliably
  • To comply with law

We collect consumer health data only as necessary to provide the features you request, or with your consent. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it.

4. Who we share it with

We share consumer health data only with service providers that process it on our behalf to run Bazu, or with your direction:

  • Google (Firebase): hosting, database, authentication, and server processing for your account data
  • Apple Health: only the data types you choose to write to Apple Health

Our food database providers, YMove and Open Food Facts, receive only food search text, barcodes, food identifiers, and a country or region, never your identity or your food log. RevenueCat receives subscription information only, never health data. We do not share consumer health data with affiliates, advertisers, or data brokers.

5. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Confirm whether we collect, share, or sell your consumer health data
  • Access your consumer health data
  • Get a list of the third parties with whom we have shared it
  • Withdraw your consent
  • Have your consumer health data deleted

You can delete individual entries in the app, or delete your entire account in Profile → Data & Privacy. To make any other request, email support@getbazu.com with "Health Data Request" in the subject line. We may need to verify your identity. We respond within 45 days, and we tell our service providers to delete your data when you ask us to delete it. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Apple Health data stays under your control in the Health app. You can change Bazu's access or delete that data in Apple Health or iOS Settings.

6. Appeals

If we decline your request, you can appeal by emailing support@getbazu.com with "Health Data Appeal" in the subject line. We will respond within the time required by law. If your appeal is denied, Washington residents may contact the Washington State Attorney General, and Nevada and Connecticut residents may contact their state Attorney General.

7. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy materially, we will update the dates above and notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect. If a change means collecting or sharing consumer health data in a new way, we will ask for your consent first where the law requires it.
